Fair Trade & Giving Back

For every case of Fair Trade bananas, $1.00 is directly returned to the BOS (Bananeros Organicos Solidarios) cooperative in Northern Peru as a social premium (local Education/ Health/ Environment/ Gender equity programs) and 30 cents goes to the Fair Trade system to support these growers through ongoing grower development. Just including purchases between 2009 and 2012 by Discovery Organics, one of our suppliers, BOS has received over $300,000 as social premiums that have been invested back into the community.
